Real Life in the City Real Life Photos Real Life Photos

How would you describe real life in urban neighborhoods? Tough, drugs, immorality, gangs—ending up in broken lives and broken families?

Unfortunately, this is how many teens grow up—individuals fighting to survive in a confused world, fighting not only for life but also for soul, for love, for hope. In our target area, 93% of the households are single-parent homes. Of the other 7%, many do not live with both biological parents. The high school dropout rate is at least 55%. Crime and drug rates are some of the highest in Kansas City.

But is this all there is for these teens? Absolutely not! Even though many teens grow up living only for the moment, real life is so much more. They need to apply for themselves the reality of life in Christ--of eternity. A Christ-less life brings consequences, but there is hope in Christ, infinite hope! Through an eternal lens of perspective, street life of the moment appears very small and insignificant. Hope takes on a whole new meaning. Security becomes reality. Real life, real hope—that is our mission!
